Vicky started working for Buchanan Veterinary Group in 2001 as a trainee nurse and then qualified as an RVN in 2006. Vicky is a long standing and valued member of the team, with both experience and compassion for her team and our clients. Vicky specialises in clinical coaching and helping student nurses reach their full potential when they qualify as registered nurses. Vicky is also a pet health counsellor and a diabetic advisor. Vicky has a Beagle called Boris who she enjoys walking, and a cat called Walter.
Amy started working for Buchanan Veterinary Group back in 2005 as a part-time receptionist but then decided she wanted to train to become a veterinary nurse. Amy became a qualified RVN in 2015. She stepped straight into the role of head nurse and has shown commitment to both her team and our clients.
Amy has two cats, Kitty and Meg and spends her free time baking with her daughter and going on walks.
Jessica joined Buchanan Veterinary Group in October 2012 as a receptionist but then decided she wanted to gain more hands on experience and went on to complete an animal care course. Jessica then completed more training and recently qualified as a registered nurse. Jessica has interests in stitching and surgical nursing.
Hayley has worked for Buchanan Veterinary Group since July 2002. She initially started as a work placement and then progressed to a permanent auxiliary nursing position, working one day a week. After further training, Hayley qualified as an RVN in 2009. Hayley loves nurse clinics, X-rays and anaesthetics and likes to help other trainee nurses by providing coaching for their practical exams.
Hayley has two grownup children and four beautiful cats who are named Baby, Sooty, Tiger and Parsley. In her free time she likes entertaining, meeting up with family and gardening.
Kelly started working for Buchanan Veterinary Group in 1998 as a student nurse. She then took a break and came back to complete her nurse training, qualifying as a RVN in 2013. She likes helping clients and offering advice. Kelly enjoys her role within Buchanans as it offers her lots of variety. Kelly is also a clinical coach, assisting student nurses with their studies and motivating them towards qualification. Kelly loves spending time with her family and going on days out.
Chloe started working for Buchanan Veterinary Group in April 2014 as a trainee nurse. She is currently studying towards becoming a qualified registered nurse. Chloe has worked within veterinary practices and pet shops since 2011. At the moment Chloe has three cats and two snakes but she is always taking in pets that are in need of a loving home. In her spare time Chloe likes skiing, horse riding and rescuing and rehoming animals.
Olivia started working for Buchanan Veterinary Group in July 2015 as a part-time receptionist. She was then offered a full-time receptionist position at our Urmston branch. Olivia has since gained her Degree in Animal Behaviour and Psychology which has inspired her into taking the next step towards becoming a qualified nurse. Olivia currently attends Lite College in Stockport where she hopes to obtain her RVN Certificate. She has a cat and an adventurous degu.
Amber started working for Buchanan Veterinary Group in March 2015. Amber is currently a first year student nurse at Myersough College. Having spent years working in offices, Amber felt the need to pursue a different career path doing something she really loves.
Amber grew up in the countryside alongside dogs, horses, donkeys, cows and chickens and has a passion for all animals big and small. In her spare time, Amber loves the outdoors and enjoys kayaking, camping, hiking and exploring new places. She has two pets: Floyd, a very senior black and white cat and Kaos, a Manchester Terrier, who lives up to his name.
Rachel started working for Buchanan Veterinary Group in April 2016 and works across all four sites. She has completed her Level 3 in Veterinary Support Assistance and Level 4 in Animal Welfare and Conservation. Prior to working for Buchanan’s, Rachel worked in a doggy day care centre. In the future she would like to complete her training to become an RVN. In the mean time she is looking to volunteer with wildlife conservation groups and societies abroad during her holidays. In her free time, Rachel likes to go on nature walks with her Boxer, Nala.
Liz started working for Buchanan Veterinary Group in September 2016 as an animal nursing assistant. Liz previously worked at an out of hours veterinary practice and joined Buchanan’s so she could further her career. Liz has a Level 2 in Animal Nursing Assistance and a Level 3 extended Diploma in Animal Management. Liz hopes to pursue her dream of becoming a registered nurse at some point in the near future. Outside of work Liz enjoys walking and hiking. She has two dogs and a cat, all of which are rescue animals.
